                         An Enduring Link With The Homeland

The International Rose of Tralee Contest is the focus of the Festival.  Each year young women of Irish birth or ancestry with that 'truth in their eyes ever dawning' compete from such far-flung corners of the world as Toronto, Belgium, Chicago, Dubai, France, Germany, New York, New Zealand, San Francisco and Sydney, in addition to centres in Ireland and Britain.  They enter in this personality contest in celebration of Ireland's best-known love story.
